What Your Dog Will Learn

This program focuses on essential exercises to prepare for the Therapy Dog test, including:

  • Greeting the Owner: Approaching and greeting the handler calmly.
  • Petting the Dog: Remaining relaxed while being petted by strangers.
  • Brushing the Dog: Tolerating gentle grooming and handling.
  • Waiting for the Owner: Patiently waiting while the handler engages in brief activities.
  • Passing Distractions: Maintaining composure in environments with noise or movement.
  • Sit-Stay (2 minutes) and Down-Stay (5 minutes): Holding these positions in busy public spaces.
  • Recall with Distractions: Coming to the handler when called, even with distractions.
  • Leave It: Ignoring treats or objects on command

This training will equip your dog to demonstrate calm, well-mannered behavior in hospitals, nursing homes, schools, and other community settings, fostering comfort and joy wherever they go.
